Sifnos
This simple, sophisticated design derives from a 19th century French Provençal printed fichu traditionally used as a neckerchief. The original piece was dominated by a larger motif, but when reworked as this distinctive, standalone ladder stripe, it became reminiscent of a simpler Mediterranean pattern, hence its Greek island inspired name. The working up of a palette of infinitely useable blues and reds as well as less expected, warmer tones makes this print a true standalone hero as well as a unifying background staple.
